How to Perfect Your Glamour Shots
By · Commentsglamour photography Basics
After a combined 23 years of taking photographs, it becomes second nature to identify what makes a great glamour image in comparison to a mediocre shot. Here are two factors that will reserve a place on our top 10 list for your next glamour shot.
Adjust Lighting for Glamour Style Photographs
The first thing to do when setting up a glamour photograph, consider lighting. With lighting, you are able to emphasize certain objects, relay a mood, highlight a body part, produce shadows, add depth, and generate a glow around the model. If you move the lighting in a certain way, it is possible to accentuate her hair, face, skin and body. Just watch your lighting and make sure the results agree with the artistic direction the model is trying to portray.
Watch Out for Color Temperature
After positioning the lighting, think about what to do about the coloring of the model. If black and white pictures are what the client is looking for, then go for it. The one thing to remember, do not forget to white balance. If you are more advanced, and wish to colorize the shot, there are no rules, except one. Make the model look gorgeous. If your model starts to look greenish in a shot due to your adjustments, then think of another option. Even though you are an artist, the model, background and overall shot should result in images of beauty. So if something isn’t working, move on and try something else until you get it right.
