World Cup 2010 is here, and the excitement surrounding the tournament is not solely based on the matches being played on the field.  The gossip, camera and press that follows the WAGs (wives and girlfriends) of the World Cup is equally impressive, and it is easy to see why.

One female in particular attaining the most attention is Argentinean-born Zaira Nara.  She is a 21 year old, successful female model dating Uruguayan striker, Diego Forland.  Her family is no stranger to the professional soccer world.  Her sister, Wanda, is legendary for once dating soccer star Diego Maradona, the present manager of the Argentine national team.  Her and her sister are gorgeous, sexy, confident females, and able to grab the attention of international celebrities and athletes alike.  But how come her pictures seem to attain a level of sexiness beyond the rest of the models.  How come she is able to deliver successful photographs, whether for a bikini modeling shoot or a boudoir photography session every single time?   The answer is in the posing, lighting, styling, and setting.  These four elements truly separate her photographs from others found online and in popular magazines making her one of the most sought after models in the world.



Let us talk about how she brings to life swimwear modeling.  She poses in a swimsuit shot by accentuating her best asset, her behind.  She is not shy to the camera when it comes to showing off her Argentinean butt, and she shouldn’t.  But notice also her facial expressions, hair, and lighting.  By combining the right balance of eye contact, angle of her body, the hair being tousled and uncombed, and the lighting truly brings this picture together.  The make-up is light, airy and barely noticeable.  It appears as if she spent the day on the water.

Shots that do not work for bikini modeling are the ones where the nails look unnatural, and the French manicure is overdone.  The hands need to remain relaxed.  You are wearing a swimsuit so it should relay an image from head to toe.  The relaxation should appear in every part of your body.  If there is any tension perceived, then the shot is a bust.  When posing for bikini modeling, think about your surroundings.  You are at the beach in swimwear for goodness sakes.  You are not wearing a suit.  So keep in mind that you are on a vacation on the beach with your adoring boyfriend, or uh-hem fabulous husband, who wants to get sand in his bathing suit and yours during this shot.  It will bring the sex appeal to the forefront.  And do not be afraid to ask a professional eye to guide you appropriately ensuring you attain a winning shot.

Her boudoir photograph is one of my favorites.

Everything is right in this picture.  She uses the lighting, styling, posing and setting perfectly.  And the idea of her sitting in the car with her legs arranged accordingly, hair hanging over one eye, her giving the “come hither” look effortlessly makes this picture my absolute favorite.  This is how Boudoir Photography should be done.
Think about the various components that go into the picture days before arriving on set.  That way, when you get to the photo set, you can just relax, have fun, and let the professionals, us, do the rest.
